At Paragon Health, our philosophy centers on relieving pain and restoring function through the least invasive methods possible. We believe that surgery should be reserved for only the most exceptional circumstances.
The majority of our patients present with chronic pain. For these individuals, we begin with conservative, non-invasive treatments. This typically includes physical therapy and/or chiropractic care. We also incorporate complementary, non-traditional approaches such as acupuncture, as well as movement-based therapies like yoga and Pilates, which emphasize flexibility, core strength, and overall wellness.
If patients do not achieve satisfactory relief through these initial treatments, they are then evaluated by a pain management specialist. At this stage, we may consider injection-based therapies. These can include corticosteroid injections or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments, which utilize the patient’s own blood to promote healing. Options range from simple in-office trigger point injections targeting specific muscle pain to more advanced procedures such as epidural or facet joint injections performed under live X-ray guidance.
Only if these measures fail to provide adequate relief do we consider surgical intervention. Even then, our focus remains on the least invasive surgical options available. Procedures may include laminotomy, laminectomy, discectomy, or trials of spinal cord stimulation. In rare cases, more extensive procedures such as disc arthroplasty or spinal fusion may be necessary. Our commitment to patient care extends beyond any procedure. We continue to closely monitor each patient’s progress to ensure optimal outcomes and sustained pain relief. At every step, our entire team shares a single goal: to alleviate suffering and improve quality of life using the safest, least invasive, and most effective treatments available.
Our focus is on addressing total patient care by guiding our patients through the process of diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and re-injury prevention. Treatment options include pain management, spinal injections, and, if necessary, minimally invasive surgeries. In combination, this broad-based variety of
modalities helps to ensure our patients receive a comprehensive approach to recovery.
